Hamad International Airport Expansion
Qatar
The expansion of Hamad International Airport in Doha represents a major transformation of one of the region’s most important aviation hubs. The Passenger Terminal Expansion Project was developed to significantly increase capacity while enhancing passenger experience, operational efficiency and long-term flexibility.
Meinhardt provided multidisciplinary engineering and consultancy services for the expansion, covering the three-storey terminal extension, Concourses D and E, baggage handling expansion, Airport People Mover (APM) station, future satellite terminal connection, underground services tunnel and utilities. The development spans approximately 537,259 m².
A Landmark Aviation Achievement
The completed expansion strengthens Hamad International Airport’s position as a major global aviation hub, increasing capacity while improving connectivity, operational resilience and passenger experience.
For Meinhardt, the project demonstrates the value of integrated multidisciplinary engineering in delivering complex aviation infrastructure at scale — combining technical expertise, digital coordination and future-focused design to support the next generation of global air travel.
