A New Gateway for Regional and Global Connectivity
Meinhardt contributed masterplanning and lead consultancy services to the development of Bhogapuram International Airport, a major greenfield aviation project designed to strengthen connectivity and support the long-term growth of Andhra Pradesh.
Spanning approximately 2,200 acres, the airport brings together an integrated passenger terminal, a 3.8-kilometre runway, parallel taxiway infrastructure, air traffic control facilities and supporting airport buildings. Its phased development strategy combines immediate operational requirements with the flexibility to accommodate substantial future passenger growth.
The initial terminal is designed to handle six million passengers annually, with provision for expansion beyond 40 million passengers. Complementary cargo, Aerocity and aviation-related developments extend the project’s potential beyond passenger transport, creating opportunities for trade, investment and regional economic development.
Through its masterplanning and lead consultancy role, Meinhardt supported a landmark infrastructure development that brings together aviation requirements, supporting facilities and long-term expansion planning.
